Beth Ridenour (Ride-now-er) is a freelance photographer from Lawrence, Kansas. Beth shoots from within her soul and considers the making of her art as necessary to her as oxygen. While many fine art photographers have a central theme to their work, Beth chooses to break this rule to photograph her life experience and emotion. She looks for the extraordinary in an ordinary life.
Beth holds a degree in photojournalism, with an accidental minor in art history, from the University of Kansas. Her path into fine art photography has been one of exploration and looking at artists' works in all mediums. Among her favorites are not only the works of, but also the words by, Georgia O'Keeffe and Walker Evans. "Stare. It is the way to educate your eye, and more. Stare, pry, listen, eavesdrop. Die knowing something. You are not here long." --Walker Evans
Beth is most relaxed and comfortable being outside with a camera in her hands.
